2018 Honda Amaze features and specs
In car comparison, it holds favorably against Maruti DZire and Hyundai Xcent. The new version of the Honda Amazes sports a new design based on the larger City sedan. It is also the first compact sedan to get a diesel engine with CVT transmission which is an unbeatable combination. It is a good compact sedan for Indian roads starting at an on-road price of 6.3 lakhs (Delhi). The price rises all the way to 10.2 lakhs for the top of the line 1.5-liter diesel automatic transmission model. It has comfortable suspension, cruise control, paddle shift, and touch-screen entertainment system. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS and rear parking sensors. Car technologies came a long way in the last decade and a compact sedan boasts of features usually found in premium models.
Performance and mileage
The 1.2-liter petrol engine produces 89 bhp and 110 Nm of torque while the 1.5-liter diesel engine produces 99 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. Honda claims mileage of 19.5km/l for the petrol manual and 27.4km/l for the diesel manual variants.
Fresh new design for India
The older avatar of the Amaze was the trusty Honda Brio redesigned as a sedan (and Mobilio too as a seven-seater MPV). The new version has been developed specifically keeping the Indian conditions in mind. Knowledge of how to maintain/service a car is handled efficiently by Honda dealers.
