In Europe and the United States, the BMW X5, the German automaker’s big luxury SUV, has gotten a new special edition. The 2022 BMW X5 Black Vermilion will begin into production in September for the US market at BMW’s Spartanburg facility. It will be released in December 2021.

The X5 special edition will be limited to 350 copies in North America. It will set you back $83,295, which is around $3,700 more than the X5 xDrive40i ($79,595).

The new X5 Black Vermilion version is finished in Satin Black with red vertical slats in the grille and red brake callipers as a contrast. The dark grey 22-inch wheels with a matte finish add to the car’s sporty black image.

It comes with M Sport bumpers and side skirts, M Sport exhaust, and adaptive M suspension with red brake callipers. Full LED headlights with laser technology are also included in the new X5 Black Vermilion version.

Inside the interior, the black sporty motif continues. Black leather upholstery with red piping and stitching is featured in the 2022 BMW X5 Black Vermilion edition. The iDrive controller and shifter have elegant glass versions, while the dashboard has carbon fibre trim.

The “Edition” logo is imprinted on the cupholder lid. The Alcantara headliner with the M logo adds to the luxury feel and appeal. Head-up display, heated steering wheel, Harman Kardon audio system, and remote engine start are all standard equipment on the new X5 Black Vermilion special edition.

The 2022 BMW X5 Black Vermilion edition will be based on the xDrive40i grade, which is equipped with BMW’s xDrive AWD (all-wheel drive) technology and is powered by a 3.0L 6-cylinder inline engine. The motor produces 265bhp of peak power and 620Nm of torque. The special edition will have the same 8-speed automatic transmission as the standard model.
