At the recent Delhi Auto Expo 2020, the 4-meter SUV from Kia Sonet made its worldwide debut. The Korean car manufacturer’s new SUV will hit Indian roads in August 2020, according to a fresh media report. The company began operations with Seltos compact SUV in the same month, last year. With the launch of all-new Sonet, Kia will celebrate its first anniversary.
The Sonet will be taking the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, and Tata Nexon forward in subcompact SUV spaces. The compact SUV will probably be in the price range of Rs 7-lakh–Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom) for production at Kia’s Anantapur plant. In its whole first year, the business intends to sell more than 70,000 Sonet devices.
The Tiger nose shoulder, LED headlamp, LED DRL and the sculptured cap are built on the Venue platform, the Kia Sonet is a familiar shoulder. Availing its sporty appearance are 16-inch alloy wheels, bold shoulder flap, flared wheel arches and paintwork around the C-pillar. The new Kia compact SUV is connected back by an LED light bar with large taillights.
The Sonet is also made of luxury treats like her elder brother–Altos. With its latest Smartphone Connectivity, it will offer the largest 10.25-inch TV infotainment system in this segment. The SUV also has UVO connected car technology with 37 features in five categories. The SUV is available.
Funny, the Kia Sonet must share with its competitor Hyundai Venue the powertrains. The system comprises of natural gasoline (83 PS 1.2L), turbocharged gasoline (1.0L) (120 PS) and turbocharged diesel (90PS 1.5L). The SUV is equipped with 2 gearbox options–a standard6-speed manual, a6-speed torque converter and a new AMT gearbox known as “Intelligent Manual Transmission” (EMT).
