Kia India is working on a new seven-seater automobile that is expected to compete with the Maruti Suzuki XL6 and the Mahindra Marazzo. Motoroctane employees in Hyderabad have observed a Kia SUV with seven seats testing. The new vehicle is essentially a seven-seater version of the Kia Sonet, which was just released in Indonesia.

The spotted model was mostly hidden by heavy fabric, with only a few design features visible. The observed model’s front DRLs, ORVMs, and window beltline prove that it’s a Sonet. Furthermore, the brake lights and high-mount stop lamp appear to be identical to those seen on the Sonet. The hood design appears to be comparable to that of the Sonet. The observed vehicle, however, appears to be somewhat longer than the present 5-seater variant and may easily exceed 4 metres in length. More information will be released in the coming future.

A thick black fabric covers the C-pillar, indicating that the SUV will have a longer overhang to accommodate the third row of seats. The third-row of the car’s movable headrests are also visible. The interiors are yet to be unveiled, but the majority of the amenities and design will most likely be shared with the Sonet small SUV.

A 113bhp 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 113bhp 1.5-litre diesel engine may power the 7-seater Sonet. The SUV might potentially be powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. It’s probable that both manual and automated models will be available.
