In India, car manufacturers have witnessed a gradual rise in number over the years. One of the most sought-after Indian automobile companies that Indians have always preferred is Maruti Suzuki. Originally known as Maruti Udyog Limited, it later became a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, a Japanese automobile manufacturing company. For 40 years, they have managed to maintain a reputation by catering to all the needs of the budget-conscious Indian customer.
This year has been a victim of a pandemic which caused an economic slowdown across the globe. But with businesses being revived slowly, Maruti Suzuki India Limited has decided to launch its much-anticipated car later this month. The new Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Petrol is sleek, mighty, and everything an everyday traveler could desire.
It was first revealed at the Auto Expo 2020 in February and now set to debut in the Indian market. Let us now see what could be expected of this upcoming car.

It is one of the most important parts of the vehicle which has been revamped. Now, the model will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine instead of a Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel engine. This new engine can be found in a host of other Maruti Suzuki cars such as Ciaz, Ertiga and more. It can produce a maximum power of 103 bhp at 6000 rpm with a torque of 138 Nm at 4400 rpm. It will also offer either a five-speed manual gearbox or a four-speed automatic transmission, and be the first time that the car will get an automatic gearbox since its launch in India.

Other than the change in engine, the new S-Cross will more or less have the same overall look and design as its diesel model.

The older ‘Sigma’ variant will be replaced by the ‘Delta’ variant, as the new base-spec trim in the line-up.
Its automatic variants will come with Suzuki’s Progressive SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle System), making them more fuel efficient.
Price:
The price of this new crossover SUV will be lower compared to its BS4 variant. Owing to its change in the engine, it will now come with a price tag of ₹9.9 lakh.
Now, it is only a matter of a few days until the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Petrol officially launches in India on July 29, 2020. The original model had received great feedback when it was a diesel variant.
