On June 10, 2021, the long-awaited next generation Skoda Octavia will make its debut in India. Production of the new Octavia has already begun at Maharashtra’s Aurangabad factory. Skoda has already begun delivering the new model to dealerships.
Skoda shops have already begun taking pre-orders for the new Octavia for a fee of Rs 50,000. According to media sources, the new generation Skoda Octavia would cost between Rs 27 lakh and Rs 30 lakh. The new vehicle is expected to cost between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 25 lakh. The redesigned Octavia will compete with the Hyundai Elantra car at this pricing bracket.
A 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine will power the new Skoda Octavia, as well as the Tiguan All Space and the future Tiguan 5-seater. This engine has a power output of 187bhp and a torque output of 320Nm. A DSG automatic transmission with seven speeds will be standard.
The new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that powers the Volkswagen T-ROC and the future Skoda Kushaq and Taigun might potentially be offered in the lesser Octavia models. This engine generates 147bhp and 250Nm of torque when paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission.
The new Octavia is 19mm longer and 15mm wider than the previous model, thanks to the Volkswagen Group’s MQB EVO platform. The sedan, on the other hand, keeps its 2,686mm wheelbase. Significant exterior modifications and an updated interior are also included in the new Octavia.
The redesigned Octavia has a more prominent front fascia with a bigger, lower-set grille and chrome surround. It has a sloping roof line, a single piece LED headlight, an angular tailgate, a new split LED tail lamp, and a single piece LED headlight. The car sits on 17-inch Rotare Aero alloy wheels that have been newly created.
The 2018 Octavia will be equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Caraway, as well as a 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit digital instrument panel. It will also include linked vehicle technology, eight airbags, electronic stability control, and traction control.
