Kia Motors has announced the launch of the new Seltos SUV in India, with a starting price of Rs 9.95 lakh. New models and specifications are added to the new Kia Seltos for 2021. In addition, the firm also unveiled the latest Sonet sub-4 metre SUV for 2021. A new brand logo is now available on both SUVs.
The HTK Plus trim level has been dropped from the Seltos range by Kia Motors. This model came with a diesel engine and a 6-speed transmission. During this period, the diesel automatic is only available on the top-of-the-line HTX trim. Furthermore, the latest diesel AT combination is also available on the GTX+ trim level.
The latest Seltos is rated between Rs 9.95 lakh and Rs 14.65 lakh with a 1.5L petrol engine, and between Rs 15.35 lakh and Rs 17.44 lakh with a turbo petrol engine. The base model of the diesel Seltos costs Rs 10.45 lakh, while the top-end version costs Rs 17.65 lakh.
The 2021 Kia Seltos gets a new GTX(O) trim, which comes with a turbo petrol engine and a 6-speed manual transmission. This model includes all of the features found in the GTX+ trim. In addition, the GTX(O) has leatherette sports seats with contrasting red stitching in a black and beige scheme.
The Kia Seltos will also get an intelligent manual transmission in 2021. (iMT). This clutchless manual gearbox is available on the mid-spec HTX+ trim with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. On the lower-spec models, the company has also introduced new features. Wireless phone projection is now available on the HTK trim, and remote engine start is now available on the HTK Plus trim. New beige cloth seats, an electric sunroof, and automatic air conditioning are included in the iMT trim.
The SUV has electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM), brake assist (BA), and hill-start assist control for safety and protection (HAC). From the HTX trim level onwards, the SUV gets new Hello Kia AI voice commands as usual. Open/close sunroof or I want to see the sky for sunroof are examples of AI commands. Open/close driver window, I need fresh air (for air intake control), set wind direction to face (for wind direction control), and switch on front defroster are some of the other voice commands (for defroster control).
The 1.5-litre NA petrol with 6MT, A CVT, and iMT, 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol with 6MT & 7DCT, and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel with 6MT & 6AT are the three engine choices for the 2021 Kia Altos. The 1.3L turbo petrol engine produces 138bhp and 242Nm of torque, while the NA petrol engine produces 113bhp and 144Nm. The oil burner produces 113 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. Normal, Eco and Sport driving modes are available, as well as Wet, Mud, and Sand terrain modes.
