One of India’s biggest conglomerates, the Tata Group has only moved forward with its innumerable ventures. One of the industries that truly considers this MNC as their strongest pillar, is the automobile industry. Tata Motors Limited was founded in 1945 and it has its headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
On the 22nd of January, 2020, the company launched its highly-anticipated hatchback Tata Altroz. It is definitely meant for automobile enthusiasts who love a little bit of adventure along with a comfortable ride.
Tata Altroz 2020:
The Altroz 2020 has been designed to perfection, based on Tata Motors’ ALFA platform (Agile, Light, Flexible, and Advanced). It is excellent for adventurous trips while simultaneously being light in weight, safe, and fuel-efficient. It has an arrow-headed grille in the front and headlights which have DRLs. It will be available in five different colors such as Avenue White, Downtown Red, Skyline Silver, High street Gold, and Midtown Grey. At the back, it has a black strip under the window with a one-of-a-kind design. For better access, all four of its doors can open wide up to almost 90 degrees. It comes with 16-inch alloys and can accommodate four on long journeys with ease.
Interiors:
The interiors of this hatchback are equally eye-catching just like the design on its exterior. It is spacious and the seats are extremely comfortable. There are an array of shades and textures inside and around the doors and infotainment screen. It also boasts of ambient lighting, six-speaker Harman sound unit, cruise control, and a completely new steering wheel. Black, light greys, fabric touch felt and shiny plastic, the inside can be very wholesome. At its launch, there was supposed to be a manual five-speed manual gearbox for both its petrol and diesel variants. But the company has admitted that the premium hatch will have an automatic transmission option.
The seats at the back are quite comfortable and the floor is flat which allows three people to sit with ease. It also has a large boot and with its doors opening wide, passengers will have no problems while entering or exiting the car.
Engines:
The car comes with broadly two engine choices: a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine (84 hp and 114 Nm) and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel motor (89 hp and 200 Nm). The diesel engine here deserves special mention here. It is a bigger unit having a displacement of 1497 cc. The engine has the power to deliver 90bhp and 200Nm of max torque that is available over a 1550rpm band. The BS6 engine is completely made out of aluminium, is very responsive and can rev up to 4000 rpm without any issues. The abilities of the hatchback are experienced best with its diesel engine and it will definitely give out a satisfactory feeling while driving.
Price:
It comes with an introductory price of ₹5.29 lakh and has five different variants in petrol and diesel choices. The price for the petrol variant is supposed to be ₹7.69 lakh while that of the diesel variant is ₹9.29 lakh.
