The launch price of the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupe in India is Rs 2.07 crore

In India, Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the new AMG GLE 63 S 4Matic+ Coupe. The new GLE 63 S Coupe, priced at Rs 2.07 crores (ex-showroom, India), is the 12th AMG model offered to AMG aficionados in India.

“Our AMG portfolio is our fastest growing sector, and the launch of the AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupé confirms our strong position in the premium performance segment,” said Martin Schwenk, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India. This car sets the bar high in terms of design, amenities, driving characteristics, and agility.

The AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupe, equipped with AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, is a competent off-roader and an excellent example of AMG Performance Luxury.”

The AMG GLE 63 S Coupe is driven by a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine that generates 612bhp at 6,500rpm and 850Nm of peak torque between 2,500 and 4,500rpm. It is touted to go from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3.8 seconds, making it Mercedes-Benz India’s quickest SUV Coupe. It is touted to reach a peak speed of 280kmph, which is electronically restricted.

The 4.0L twin-turbo engine also has the 48-volt EQ Boost hybrid system, making it the first AMG V8 to do so. An integrated EQ Boost starter-alternator is included in this powertrain. It is a single electric motor that combines a starter and an alternator and is installed between the engine and gearbox. The EQ Boost hybrid system adds 22 horsepower and 250 pounds-feet of torque.

The engine is mated to an AMG Speedshift TCT 9G gearbox that has been tailored to the 8-cylinder engine’s needs. ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL, an active roll stabilisation technology, is also available on the SUV Coupe.

This technology not only minimises body roll when cornering, but it also allows for more accurate control of cornering and load cycle characteristics. Furthermore, it improves ride comfort when travelling in a straight line by balancing out the stimulus from one-sided road bumps.

Cylinder deactivation is available on Mercedes-V8 AMG’s engines. Cylinders two, three, five, and eight are disabled in the partial-load zone, which decreases fuel usage. The cylinder deactivation technology activates in a wide engine speed range, spanning 1000 to 3250 rpm, when the driver selects the “Comfort” driving programme.

The AMG GLE 63 S Coupe has an unique grille and restyled front fascia, which includes a massive silver chrome splitter and black air intakes. It has an elevated ‘powerdomes’ in the hood and a chrome-finished ‘Panamerica’ grille. A steeper windshield and back glass, a black rear diffuser, a special AMG twin-exit exhaust system, and 22-inch alloy wheels are among the upgrades.

The AMG model’s interior is identical to the regular model’s. It has two 12.3-inch displays, one for infotainment and the other for the instrument console. The car has an AMG 3-spoke steering wheel, aluminium shift paddles, and Nappa Leather covered seats, among other features.
