Several new models have been proposed for the Indian market by automobile manufacturers. It contains a number of all-new automobiles in several classes, as well as new-generation vehicles and facelifts. Here’s a rundown of India’s top ten SUVs, all of which are about to enter their next generation.
2021 FORCE GURKHA
The new-generation Force Gurkha, which was previewed at the 2020 Auto Show, is slated to reach the streets in the following months. Its official release date, on the other hand, has yet to be revealed. The tiny off-road SUV has a more rough appearance than previously, while keeping the classic design components. The inside has also undergone extensive renovations. The BS6-compliant 90bhp engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and an optional 4WD system under the hood of the 2021 Force Gurkha.

2021 MARUTI VITARA BREZZA
During the Christmas season of 2021, India’s best-selling subcompact SUV, the Maruti Vitara Brezza, will get a new generation. Inside and externally, the model will undergo significant alterations. According to reports, the new model will be based on Suzuki’s Heartect platform and will have a sunroof and connected car technology. The stronger hybrid system with a 1.5L K15B naturally aspirated petrol engine might be one of the most significant modifications. In place of the 4-speed automatic transmission, the SUV will have a new 6-speed automatic transmission.

2022 MAHINDRA SCORPIO
The new Mahindra Scorpio is expected to arrive around the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022. The SUV will expand in size as the generation changes, and will be supported by a modified ladder frame chassis supplied from the new Thar. Its façade and interior will undergo significant alterations. The Mahindra Scorpio will be available in 2022 with two turbocharged engines: a 2.0L turbo petrol engine and a 2.2L mHawk engine. The 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearboxes will be available.
2022 TOYOTA FORTUNER
The Toyota Fortuner, India’s best-selling luxury SUV, will be replaced by a new model next year. According to sources, the new model will have ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), vehicle stability control (VSC), and electric power steering, among other modern features. The SUV might be equipped with a diesel-electric hybrid drivetrain. The Fortuner is now available with two engines: a 2.8L diesel and a 2.7L petrol engine with 104 and 166 horsepower, respectively.

2022 FORD ENDEAVOUR
Next year, the new-generation Ford Endeavour will make its world premiere. The new model will be larger and more luxurious than its predecessor. In reality, the new Endeavour will be built on a slightly revised ladder frame base. Some of the design elements from the new Ford F150 Raptor will be carried over. A new Wildtrack X variant will most likely be added to the Ford Endeavour model lineup in 2022. There will be two engine options: a 250bhp, 3.0L, 6-cylinder turbo diesel and a 2.0L, 4-cylinder twin turbo EcoBlue diesel. The higher trim levels will have the more powerful motor. A 10-speed automatic transmission will be standard on all models.

2022 RENAULT DUSTER
The third-generation Renault Duster might be introduced in India by the French automaker. While there is no official announcement on when it will be released, it is expected to happen next year. The design of the SUV’s new model might be influenced by the Dacia Bigster concept, which was just shown. The 2022 Renault Duster will be based on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-B platform and will likely undergo significant interior and exterior upgrades. It now comes with a 1.3L turbo petrol engine and a 6-speed manual or 7-speed CVT automatic transmission.

NEW FORD ECOSPORT
Ford will update its popular EcoSport compact SUV in the nation with a new generation. The new model is expected to make its global premiere by the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023. According to rumours, the 2022 Ford EcoSport would have a crossover-like stance and be roughly 4.3 metres long (global-spec). The SUV might be built on a modified version of the current platform. The EcoSport is now available with 1.5L petrol engines (121bhp/149Nm) and 1.5L turbo diesel engines (99bhp/215Nm).

NEW TATA NEXON
In the future years, the Tata Nexon subcompact SUV will undergo a generation shift. The company has yet to divulge the details of its official unveiling. However, it is expected to make its premiere at the 2022 Auto Show, with a launch date set for the end of next year. The subcompact SUV will get a lot of visual and function enhancements, but the engines are likely to stay the same. The most significant alteration will be to its foundation. The new Nexon will be built on the Alfa platform, which will also underpin the new Tiago hatchback and Tigor small sedan.

NEW MAHINDRA XUV500
According to reports, the XUV500 5-seater will be reintroduced to compete with the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. While the new model will not be available until 2024, the business will release the Mahindra XUV700, a seven-seater variant. The latter is set to reach the streets in October 2021. The new one will be substantially smaller than the existing one, measuring roughly 4.3 metres. The new XUV500 will be available with a 1.5L diesel or 1.5L turbo petrol engine, as well as a manual or automatic transmission.
