At the 2020 Geneva Motor Show, the much-awaited Hyundai i20 2020 will be its world premiere. The company released the external images of the hatchback and the inside drawing. In addition to the new Hyundai i20, it was also revealed the dimensions and further details.
With regard to design, the Hyundai i20 2020 is equipped with a single piece cascading grille, newly designed LED headlamps and triangular air dams. The entire body can be seen as fast plucks and curves. A new window, new tone alloy rings and a contrasting roof come on the sides of the hatchback.
Other highlights of the design include LED back lamps with a lit strip, a spoiler for the new tailgate, a fake back diffuser and dual-tone buffers. The Hyundai i20 is now 5 mm longer and 30 mm broader in terms of proportions. The car has however been reduced by 24 mm in height. The wheelbase is increased by 10 mm and the legroom for the back occupants should improve. The hatchback provides a baggage with a capacity of 351 liters, 25 liters above the sleeve.
The new Hyundai i20 is a cabin inside the cabin without damage. It gets a large Digital console with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which is the largest 10.25-inch touch screen infotainment system in the segment. Hyundai’s Blue Link connected car technology is also available in the hatchback. Other features are ambient lighting, a smartphone wireless charger, keyless input, start pushbutton and a premium audio system from Bose. Security features include 6 airbags, an EBD ABS and an EBD camera.
The Hyundai i20 2020 has a 1.0-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine, which offers 2 tuning conditions-99 Bhp/172Nm and 119 Bhp/172Nm. A 48-volt mild hybrid system, which Hyundai claims to provide for fuel reduction and CO2 emissions, would also benefit from the more powerful variant. The Indian model will also have an 83bhp, 1,2-liter gasoline and a 1.5-liter diesel engine complying with the BSVI system.
The new Hyundai i20 in India is expected to start in mid-2020, most likely from June to July. They will compete with the new Tata Altroz, the Volkswagen Polo, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and the Jazz Honda.
