Mahindra & Mahindra has stated that nine new SUVs would be launched in the Indian market by 2026. By 2026, the business plans to launch four new SUVs on the monocoque platform, three new SUVs on the ladder-on-frame chassis, and two all-new electric cars. The next-generation Bolero is also in the works, according to Mahindra.
The new Mahindra Bolero will be built on the new ladder-on-frame chassis that made its debut in the new Thar. This platform will also power the next-generation Scorpio and the 5-door Thar, both of which are set to debut in 2022.
The next-generation Mahindra Bolero will almost certainly be powered by the same 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine that powers the Thar. This engine develops 132bhp and 320Nm of torque while powering the lifestyle SUV. A 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission are available.
The 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine might possibly be used to power the next Bolero. The Marazzo and the XUV300 are currently powered by this engine. It has a power output of 121bhp and a torque output of 300Nm. A new 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine or a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine might be offered in the next-generation Mahindra Bolero.
The next-generation Bolero will be released between 2023 and 2026, according to Mahindra. Because the present model is nearly ten years old, we estimate the launch will take place in 2023-24. The current Bolero will be given a mid-life facelift in the near future.
The next-generation Mahindra Bolero will remain a useful people mover with seating for up to 9 individuals. The SUV, on the other hand, will have a more contemporary and utilitarian cabin with some modern amenities. A touchscreen infotainment system, a more powerful AC unit with rear AC vents, adjustable steering wheel, power windows, and other features are anticipated to be included.
The next-generation Mahindra Bolero is anticipated to have the present old-school tough profile, which is popular in rural and semi-urban India. LED headlights with LED DRLs and LED taillights might be added to the top-spec model. It will very certainly receive a skid plate, ORVMs with turn indicators, and a new front grille inspired by the next-generation Scorpio and the XUV500.
